Advice

I'm new to the blogging 'thing'. I decided to start writing a blog as I found myself being directed to so many inspirational blogs and wanted to be apart of it. Thing is,I don't think I'm doing very well at it!
I am very grateful to those of you who have decided to follow me, but I was wondering if you could direct me to any ways of getting more followers or interest on my blog?
I have myself followed blogs, I have also commented on a large array of blogs. I know my header and background aren't great and I have got someone to work on that for me but it won't be for a couple of months or so.
Anyway, any positive criticism would be warmly welcomed.
Thank-you
Rachel x

  1. I write about everything and nothing but I do find I get more comments when I show pictures of homemade things. I try to read as many blogs as I can and leave a comment and then sometimes they pop over to my blog and leave me a comment. The more people that know you're out there the better I think, so keep on posting, reading and leaving comments and everytthing in the garden will be rosy, Lucey x

  2. I agree with what Lucey said. I'm new to this blogging thing too, so I feel the same as you do.
But I think, so long as you blog about things that you love, and enjoy blogging about, then people will love and enjoy reading it.
I certainly enjoy coming to look for updates on your blog. And I think your background and header (especially the bunting!) are perfectly lovely as they are.

  3. Do you have a facebook page too? Crafting is a recent hobby of mine and I am in the process of setting up my own blog but I am dubious about how successful it will be. My main business is photography and I had a blogspot blog for that and no-one ever commented on it - they would look then email me to say nice photos!!! Once I brought it in to be a main part of my website I had more success but I have found that I still don't update it as much as it is less interactive than facebook where many people will happily comment and like without having to register in some way. Good luck anyway and I will like your blog when I figure out how! All that said there ar some amazingly successful blogs so there must be a way!!
    Good luck

  4. Plus you have 11 or so followers but no blogs that you are following in your list - following others will help I should think
